The African National Congress for the first time in 30 years have lost the majority to run parliament.

Julius Malema leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters has said that he is willing to work with other parties to form a new government.

The ANC are standing at 41% , the Democratic Alliance (DA) at 22%, the Umkhonto weSizwe Party at 14% and the EFF at 9%. The MK party ( Umkhonto weSizwe) made a shocker by winning Kwazulu Natal vote with 45%.

The Jacob Zuma party seems to be happy with the result of gaining about 70 seats in parliament country wide.

The ANC Secretary General said that the millions of South Africans who voted for the ANC have seen the effects of the work we have done to end loadshedding, to revive our infrastructure programmes , to provide social protection to the poor and unemployed , to provide work opportunities and work experience to young people and to hold those responsible for corruption to account.

Jacob Zuma yesterday gave a press statement in which he threaten the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) about declaring results before concerns were addressed.

The MK party had concerns over vote rigging by the IEC. Henceforth , the MK party lodged concerns with the IEC and Nhlamulo Ndhlela the spokesperson of the MK party said they had communicated with the party leader Jacob Zuma about the concerns the party had over the counting of votes.

The Umkhonto weSizwe Party (MK) is calling for the manual counting of the votes.

Police Minister Bheki Cele says no one is allowed to threaten the declaration of the elections. He insists the IEC has the authority to disclose the results as it sees fit. Cele says he is satisfied with the law enforcement efforts in avoiding any disturbance during elections.

Jacob Zuma is having the last laugh this election with his hard won 14% which defeated the ANC and made it fail to get the majority it wanted in parliament.

This has been a change in the mainstream politics of South Africa with Jacob Zuma deciding the fate of the nation.

The ANC is expected to form a coalition government with either the DA , MK or the EFF
